Scott Charles Loepkey was born Feb. 17, 1952 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, to parents Charles Rudolph Loepkey and Clara (Mickey) McGoldrick Loepkey. He was older brother to sisters Susan and Pamela.

Scott’s early years as the son of a military airman were spent in numerous cities and states. Eventually, upon his father’s retirement from the military the family would settle in Santa Barbara. This would become Scott’s city of residence for some 57 years.

Scott graduated from Bishop Diego High School, attended SBCC, then chose to become a tradesman. Eventually, Scott would focus on electronics and cabling.

In, 1997 Scott and partner Tom Wentling would form Advanced Cable Systems, a corporation that continues today. Scott was very proud of the quality work done by Advanced and worked hard, long hours to ensure such. Most notable in his mind was the work done for Cottage Hospital at their various sites. It is fitting that some of his final days were spent under their care.

Scott and the family particularly wish to thank Doug Woodruff, Tom Wentling, his Advanced Cable Systems “family,” Ari and Frank, all of his Ridley-Tree Sansum caregivers, numerous neighbors, and all the many friends that visited in his final days.

Over the years Scott developed a passion for flying beginning with RC’s but culminating with his beloved Cessna “Bird Dog.” Hopefully, today Scott soars above us all reunited with his predeceased parents.

A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future. A “Good Guy” gone too soon.
